Thanks for your posting on this website. From my experience, there are times when softening upward a photograph might provide the photographer with a bit of an imaginative flare. Often however, the soft blur isn't just what exactly you had as the primary goal and can sometimes spoil an otherwise good picture, especially if you thinking about enlarging it.
